Step 6 - Add a Camera to the Scene
Note that Workflow Wizard should be run before adding a camera. If it is run afterwards then the camera should be removed and added again.
The Ncam AR Suite includes a number of camera actors that simplify the process of setting up an augmented reality scene. They eliminate the need to build a Composure composite by only requiring that an appropriate camera asset is dragged-and-dropped into the scene.
In the AR Suite plug-in there are two camera blueprints. One overlays the Unreal graphics over the video signal and the other will overlay the video signal over the Unreal graphics using an alpha matte. We refer to these two rendering pipelines as "Virtual Overlay" and "Virtual Studio" respectively.
If using AR Suite LITE, camera blueprints are not provided, and it is necessary to use the "Composure" framework instead. This process is documented in the Compositing: Composure section
The process is the same for the AR Suite cameras; a camera blueprint just needs to be drag-dropped into the scene. They are located in the "Engine / Plugins / Ncam AR Suite Content / UE Camera / Blueprints" folder.
The Cameras available in the Suite plugin are called:
- NcVirtualStudioCameraBP - Unreal Graphics will be behind the video signal and will only appear when a suitable chroma key has been selected
- NcVirtualOverlayCameraBP - Unreal Graphics will be overlaid over the video signal
Please see the Rendering Features section to see how these cameras differ and for an illustration of what features are available.
