Step 2 - Configuring Video IO using the Media Profile
The workflow's configuration of the video IO is stored within a new Media Profile asset. The settings within the Media Profile may need to be modified to specify how the SDI connections have been made to the Unreal workstation. This can be done by opening the media profile from the toolbar.
Or alternatively the media profile can also be opened by locating and double-clicking on it from within the content browser.
Inside this window there are three elements that must be configured:
- Inputs - When the media profile was created only the type of video card being used was specified. The actual port on the device that the video signal is actually connected to must be set here. On some cards there may only be one option, while others have multiple available.
- Outputs - Same as above but relating to which output spigot of the video card we wish to send a signal from.
- Genlock - Setting a genlock will force Unreal to frame-sync with a particular device. This is required to ensure that it always renders once per frame of input video. Always choose the same option that was chosen in the input section.
For both the Inputs, Outputs and Genlock sections, expand the menu out until the Configuration options are displayed, select from the drop-down the correct value for your hardware setup.
The options that are chosen for the Input configuration and Genlock configuration should match
