Reality Installation
Upgrades to the Ncam Reality software can be conducted either online or offline, both methods are shown below
Connection Box Users
It's vital to update both your server and connection box to the same version
The web UI will automatically check our public Ncam server for updates every time you are connected to the internet.
An Update Available button will appear if a new version release has been detected.
If you click on it, it will provide instructions for installation.
You can also view what improvements there are with the What's New link at the top of the dialog.
Updates can only be done from a non-mobile device.
Make sure you update your connection box if you have one.
Copy and paste the necessary instructions into a terminal window on your current device, and it will perform an update.
Visit the Download links page and download the Ncam Server offline installer. If you are using a connection box, also make sure to download the installer for that.
Get the file(s) onto a desktop device on the same network as, or directly onto, the device you want to update. You will not be able to update from a device running Android or iOS (e.g. your phone or tablet).
Please do not rename the npkg files.
Open the web UI and click Helpers > Server Controls > Offline Install:
Drag and drop your Ncam Server npkg file onto the pop-up that appears, and copy the commands that appear to your clipboard.
Open a terminal by pressing "Ctrl + Alt + T".
In the terminal, navigate to the folder that the installer was copied to, for instance, if the installer is on the desktop of the server then this can be reached like this:
"cd Desktop/"
Paste the text from the previous step into the terminal and press enter
Repeat this again if you need to install a Connection Box npkg.
