Overview

Ncam Reality supports the encoding of lenses via the "Camin Broadcast" or "Camin 3M" devices produced by Cmotion. The camin unit integrates with compatible lens motors and provides serial data to the Ncam equipment via an Ncam provided serial cable

Compatibility

The Camin device must be running 3.12.1 firmware or later

Camin support is only available on the Mk2 platform

Instructions

Connect the Ncam provided serial cable to the EXT port of the camin device, connect the 7 pin lemo end to the RS232 port of either the Mk2 server or Connection box

Inside the preferences window of the Ncam Reality Full UI, select "Cmotion Camin Serial Protocol" from the "Lens Encoders > Type" Dropdown

Calibrate the motors as per normal using the Camin device

Power Requirements

The Ncam Camin serial cable is able to provide power to the Camin device. However depending on the type of motors being used with the camin, dedicated power for the Camin may be required. This can be provided via a Cmotion provided power cable utilising the RS port on the camin device
