Inclement weather

The camera bar has been designed to be dust and splash resistant, if the bar is being used in a wet environment, it is recommended to mount the bar forwards to prevent the ingress of water through the cooling vents on the underside of the unit.

Suggested mounting accessories

The Mk2 camera bar has been designed to allow as much flexibility as possible when mounting onto camera equipment.

Several factors should be taken into account when deciding on how best to mount the camera bar:

  1. Tracking view - The camera bar requires a clear view of a suitable area to track. Ensure a position is found on the camera that allows the camera bar an unobstructed view of a static part of the environment.
  2. Stability - There must be no "play" in how the camera bar is mounted, Any flex or slipping in the mount will cause issues in the tracking and will require the Witness to Main calibration to be repeated each time slipping occurs

Some suggested types of accessories are illustrated below. Because of the huge variety of cameras and configurations that are possible this list is not exhaustive and is indented to provide a starting point for further investigation

USB Cable

The Ncam provided USB cable features a "lockable" design to prevent accidental disconnection when using the system. Cables of this design are limited to 1m. We strongly recommended the use of the Ncam provided cable, but should a longer cable be required any USB C cable supporting a data speed of 10 Gbit/s can be used instead.

If a replacement cable is used, please take precaution to ensure it is secured to minimise the chance of disconnection
